INVITATION TO A PRESS CONFERENCE
Friday, April 27, at 11:00, in ATTIKO METRO S.A. premises at Thessaloniki (No. 40 of 26th October street – 4th floor).
“METRO AND POETRY”
To the theoretical question whether a large Technical Company of the Public Sector can vindicate poetry, Attiko Metro S.A. and the Society of Literary Artists of Thessaloniki respond positively and creatively.
Just as in 2017 the citizens of Thessaloniki were astonished to see outstanding poems by G. Vafopoulos, Zoi Karelli, Manolis Anagnostakis and other poets adorning the worksite fencing at Agia Sofia, once again this year they saw an enormous banner at the same worksite with the verse:
“ words have to be driven like nails so as not to be blown away like leaves in the wind”
on the occasion of the World Poetry Day.
In a few days, as a welcome to the 15th International Book Expo, a large banner at Sintrivani worksite of the Metro shall read:
Thessaloniki, the city of the open book
“With an open window overlooking the waves as a background
Casting light on the other aspect of love”
Kleitos Kyrou
