In view of covering the construction needs of AGHIA SOFIA Station, today, Thursday September 5th, 2013, the transfer of vehicular circulation to the northern part of Egnatia Street is completed and, on the basis of the new traffic arrangement:
- The worksite occupation is relocated to the southern section of Egnatia Street, from its intersection with Aghias Sofias Street up to Mitropolitou Gennadiou Street. Egnatia Street will continue to have two traffic lanes per direction.
- The part of Aghias Sofias Street between Egnatia and A. Keramopoulou Streets is converted into a one-way Street, heading towards A. Keramopoulou Street.
- Platonos Street is once more rendered to the vehicular circulation.
- At the northern section of the station, the pedestrian traffic shall be served, temporarily and for as long as it is feasible due to the prevailing conditions, by a pedestrian passage through the worksite area while, at a subsequent phase, provision has been made for the construction of a pedestrian bridge.
Throughout the execution of construction works, the work crews of the Contracting Joint Venture shall make all possible efforts to serve the adjacent businesses.
