More than a thousand (1000) people visited yesterday afternoon the worksite of Thessaloniki Metro at the location of AGHIA SOFIA Station currently under construction in order to admire the archaeological articles that were revealed during the construction of this major technical Project, which runs through the historical center of Thessaloniki.
The visitors were given a tour by the archaeologists working in the excavation area during which they had the opportunity to see, preserved underneath the road pavement of Egnatia Odos, central road arteries dating back to the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine eras, as well as sections of buildings and the sewage/water supply networks.
