Following ATTIKO METRO’s BoD Resolution issued on November 24th 2004, Phase A’ (preselection) of the Tender of the Project “Design, Construction & Commissioning of the Thessaloniki Metro” was completed. Out of the five Consortia consisting of the greek and foreign companies which expressed interest for the project, four consortia met the criteria set in the Tender Documents:
- “THESSMETRO” Consortium consisting of the companies J & P – AVAX, F.C.C. CONSTRUCCION, CONSTRUCCIONES Y AUXILIAR DE FERROCARRILES, DIMETRONIC, ELECNOR, INSTALACIONES INABENSA.
- “AEGEK-IMPREGILO – ANSALDO T.S.F. – SELI – ANSALDOBREDA” Consortium.
- “AKTOR – SIEMENS – VINCI – THEMELIODOMI” Consortium.
- “BILFINGER BERGER – ΑTHINA- ΑΤΤΙ-ΚΑΤ – ROTEM COMPANY – ALCATEL CANADA – TPF CHAPEAUX INTERNATIONAL” Consortium.
It is worth mentioning that the preselection phase was completed without any objection filed by the consortia participating in the tender. The aforementioned consortia will be invited within the next few weeks to submit technical and financial offer for the Project.
ATTIKO METRO S.A., in co-operation with YPEHODE, sets as a first priority the construction of the Thessaloniki Metro, 9.5 km with 13 contemporary stations. The completion of the Tender and the project construction award is expected to take place in summer 2005, provided that there will be no entanglements due to the filing of objections.
